cheerful Here are some pictures of Hoshino-sensei and the D.Gray-man exhibition of her original works I took at the AnimagiC 2008. The manga pictures are the real drawings brought from Japan. I also made some photos during the autograph session.

There was a discussion with Hoshino-sensei where the german fans could ask a few questions regarding
D.Gray-man. Here is a short summary of the questions and Hoshino's answers:
BEWARE OF SPOILERS!!!!
1. How old is Rhode Camelot?
-> Hoshino-sensei will keep this as a secret for now.
2. Has Tyki a favourite dish?
-> It's fish. ;-)
3. Will Kanda's past be shown sometime later in the manga?
-> Yes.
4. The D.Gray-man fanbook says that David (Debitto) loves break-dance. Why is that so?
-> It's one of his hobbys. Hoshino-sensei likes break-dance too but doesn't practice it herself. ^_^;;
5. Will the mystery behind Cross' death be resolved?
-> That's a secret too. She didn't want to talk about what will happen in the story in the future. That's understandable... in my opinion.
6. Has Tyki Mikk still gray skin after losing his Noah?
-> Yes.
7. There are currently 15 volumes published in Japan. Are there plans to end the story soon ?
-> There are as of now no concrete ideas as when to finish the series. <-- I'm glad about that. She should
continue the story as long as possible, right? :-)
8. From where did Hoshino-sensei got the idea for the title "D.Gray-man"?
-> The colors black and white play an important role in the whole series. And the color gray symbolizes that.
9. The fanbook mentions that Rhode loves Allen. Will the story evolve around this aspect too?
-> Another question she didn't want to answer. Of course. But she was grinning. :-D
Hoshino-sensei also said that it's the first time she made an appearance in the public talking about her
manga and getting into contact with her fans. So she met her german fans before the japanese ones!!! She also said that it is a great feeling how much enthusiasm the fans show for her manga.
I think she really liked the meeting, especially the german cosplayers which were dressed as one of the
D.Gray-man characters.

I never fail to be confused by all the people who don't know Hoshino-sensei's gender though XD;;And I love that they brought the giant manga blowups from that particular chapter (with Komui and Linali)!!! That's my favorite chapter of the entire series XD; I wonder if Hoshino picked out that particular chapter herself, lol...
